Katie Horan LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker and I provide mental health counseling to adolescents and adults. I graduated from the University of Notre Dame, with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, in 2003. I received my Master's in Clinical Social Work from The University of Chicago: School of Social Service Administration in 2007.

I have worked in the mental health field for over 15 years in a variety of treatment settings, including: community mental health centers, therapeutic group homes, college counseling centers, and psychiatric hospitals. I have experience counseling individuals with chronic mental illness, addictions, issues related to past trauma, and a variety of mood disorders, including depression and anxiety.

I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders and I have completed extensive training in the field of eating disorders and self-injury.  I have counseled several individuals as they move toward body acceptance and  move away from self-critical thinking and self-destructive methods of coping with distress. I am particularly passionate about working with young adults, as they work on building self -worth and identity, seeking independence , and managing life transitions.

I value working in a field that offers me the amazing opportunity to learn about and learn from people's stories. I am grateful to the many clients who continue to share their experiences and goals with me with honesty, openness, and bravery.
