Katie Horan LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have been providing individual counseling to adolescents and adults in private practice since 2012.

​

 I graduated from the University of Notre Dame, with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2003 and I received my Master's in Clinical Social Work from The University of Chicago: School of Social Service Administration in 2007.

 

I have had a diverse experience in the mental health field for over 15 years in a variety of treatment settings, including: community mental health centers, therapeutic group homes, college counseling centers, and psychiatric hospitals. This has afforded me the amazing opportunity to learn about and learn from many peoples' stories over the years.

I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders and I have completed extensive training in the field of eating disorders , trauma, and self-injury. I have worked with several individuals as they move toward self- acceptance and self-compassion and  move away from self-critical thinking or self-destructive methods of coping with distress. I am constantly impressed with the resilience of my clients and grateful to the many people who continue to share with me with such openness and bravery.

Outside of work, I like to spend as much time outdoors as possible, whether that is on long walks around the neighborhood; enjoying a meal with friends or family; or cheering at a variety of youth sporting events. My husband and I are proud parents of two very spirited and energetic boys, who ensure that we are never bored or short on adventure!
